Chocolate Syrup

Use over ice cream, cake, or to make chocolate milk.

1 cup cocoa
1½ cups sugar
1 cup hot water
Dash of salt
2 tsp vanilla
½ cup white Karo syrup

  1. Mix sugar, salt and cocoa.
  2. Add enough water to make a paste, then add the rest of the water.
  3. Add Karo syrup.
  4. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Boil for 3 minutes.
  6. Add vanilla.
  7. Pour at once into a jar.
  8. When cool, refrigerate.
